Hope your Valentines was good... now today (in Ontario anyway) is Family Day. Ted came up with an even better concept for it.... Make a Family Day... so the "Swingers" version is we all have to have sex!!! Hmmm, I wonder if Ted remembers that he is fixed? Don't think I will remind him, that way he will still try to "Make a Family" ;-)

So why are strip clubs ok, but swingers clubs frowned upon? I was reading an article today about a swingers club trying to get approval to open in Springfield, Oregon and they are just not welcome. Meanwhile, there are strip clubs all up and down the street... so what is the big deal? Residents are worried that swing clubs attract prostitution... but strip clubs don't? This kind of double standard frustrates me. You can read all about the New Swingers Club, and decide for yourself.... Sandi

Just wanted to let you know about a new club in Oshawa, Ontario. They are called Sinful Indulgence Lifestyle Club and they have events once per month (their next one is tomorrow night - June 27th). Their site describes the club as

"Sinful Indulgence is a comfortable, exciting and non-aggressive environment in which to explore your sexual desires and fantasies and meet some really great people. First timers will not feel intimidated and can expect a friendly, outgoing well mannered and interesting crowd."

I have not heard much about it yet, so if you make it out please let me know how it was. Sounds like a good alternative for everyone living in the east end. Just wanted to make sure you heard about it.... Sandi (TrystSwingers.com)

Yes, you heard that right, Ron Jeremy is opening his Swing Club today in of all places Portland Oregon. It is called Club Sesso is a private, member's only club (so there is no sign), and is located near the Portland World Trade Center. It features a large group area, 11 private rooms each with a king-sized bed, plus a couple-only lounge.

Club Seuss was created to answer the overdue demand for an exciting upscale swingers nightclub in Portland. Who would have thought that Portland would be a hub of Swinger activity? Guess the general public better watch out... We are EVERYWHERE!!! :-)

According to a Toronto Sun article last Sunday, it seems that Toronto city council is still out to close down those "filthy swing clubs". At a council meeting in June they voted in favour of closing down two Etobicoke swingers clubs and this fall will begin work with the police, planning department, public health, fire services and municipal licensing and standards to oust the swinger clubs. Sounds like they are going to use anything they can to close them down. 

What happened to the Toronto that in the early 80's were raiding the Gay Bathhouses like there was no tomorrow, yet now has an annual "Pride Parade" where the mayor, police chief and councillors participate?

• Is open sex among consenting adults okay or not?
• Why does it seem to be okay between same sex partners but not between heterosexual ones?
• Is there not enough bi men and women swingers at the clubs to warrant being treated the same way?

Obviously the supporters of Gay Bathhouses are much more vocal and politically connected than Swingers are. The gay community is also much more organized than Swingers are, and until the Swing clubs can all get along it would seem that they (and all of us) are going to be targets for the politicians.

It does seem wrong for a city who promotes it's diversity in cultures to criticize one lifestyle over another. Bottom line Swingers clubs are legal, when they do not "harm society". Why can't they just leave us alone to have some "FUN"? Let me know what you think.... Sandi
