I am trying something a little different today, please let me know what you think by adding your comments below. I am going to start letting you know about news items which may be of interest to you rather than just telling you about all of the updates to the site.
Caliente Nudist Resort in Florida has given up it's charter with the American Association for Nude Recreation. The AANR was not happy to learn that Caliente's public relation director is scheduled to lead a workshop promoting the co-existence of swingers and nudists at Swingfest 2008.
While most swingers enjoy being open about their sexuality many just enjoy the freedom to express themselves by wearing little or no clothing. Naturist clubs are not know for their sexuality, although many first time visitors are surprised when they find that out.
The AANR feels that Swingers and Nudists cannot co-exist. What right does a group who constantly defends their right to be open and free to express themselves have to criticize the Swingers community? There are many Swingers who started out as Nudists, got comfortable with themselves to become swingers and still enjoy visiting Nudist resorts. Does that mean that Swingers do not know how to behave? Do we have to have sex with someone just because we see them Naked? Yes, I agree there are a few who seem to have trouble remembering that they are in a public place and need to conduct themselves accordingly, but there are also non-swingers who have the same problem. There are idiots everywhere, telling a Nudist Resort that they are not allowed to approach Swingers and conduct a workshop on how we can co-exist is just plain prejudicial and should not be tolerated. But that is just my opinion, what's yours?.... Sandi

I am not a nudist. I believe very firmly in keeping my cloths on! I am, however, an active swinger....
I may not believe in 'public' nudity, but I certainly would not suggest that a private club has to limit their 'activities' to what I, as an individual, feels is appropriate....
While many or perhaps most nudists/naturalists have no interest in swinging, there are probably just as many swingers with little or no interest in nudist/naturalist camps....
I'm not sure why the 'nudist community' is unwilling to partner/associate/relate cooperatively with the 'swinging community.' After all each is in its own way a 'fringe' lifestyle that should be more accommodating and accepting of each other....
No one can deny that the likelihood of individuals in each community being interested in the activities of the other....
In my own swinging experiences I have found people within the community to be far more pleasant and respectful than those outside the community. The likelihood of finding a 'non-swinger' to be overly sexually aggressive is far more likely than finding a sexually aggressive person within the swinging comunity.
well i have been a nudist for 14 yrs. i luv the life style.... i would rasther not have swingers in our camps.. we advertise as a family camp, we practice nudity as a natural healthy way of life, and freedom,, not sexual activity, swingers are what we are against, and im glad that your a swinger and dont like nudist camps, because then i dont hasve to deal with you tryin to pick up on me, when i go to have a relaxing time in the hot tub.. , with or without my grandbabies... as far as im concerned, you shouldnt even be allowed in our camps,,,,,so yea down with the swinger seminars in aanr im a member of the willamettans, in oregon,, some of you may know me but, ive never had sex with you muxer,,,,
im a lifelong nudist and i think the Nudists need to be more diplomatic because they come off as being very antisex. i understand their concerns with swingers but the fact is that this is about public perceptions rather than reality. the swingers arent going to "take over" or "push out" the nudists. as a kid i even attended nudist facilities that allowed a certain amount of sex (as long as it was consensual, discrete and respectful of others) and i wasn't traumatized or imperiled by it. neither nudism or swinging are lifestyles that are going to become mainstream anytime soon, people should really stop trying to promote it to the detriment of the philosophy behind it.
I visited a nudist club for the first a month ago. I found nothing wrong with being nude and enjoyed the activities there. However there were three or four people out of more than two dozen that used crude language, suggestive actions and/or drunkeness. Therefore, I agree with the AANR policies and the enforcement of them by banning clubs that tolerate such behavior. Nudism properly policed is a wonderful activity and I would recommend at least one visit for everyone.
This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I enjoy seeing websites that understand the value of providing a prime resource for free. I truly loved reading your post. Thanks!
You've made some interesting points here, and I appreciate reading them -- makes me think about things. So thanks for taking the time to make this post
